Working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering, I helped define key requirements, translate them into scalable design solutions, and oversee implementation through final QA. My focus was ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with business goals — delivering a high-quality marketplace experience at launch.
I led the end-to-end design of seller and tenant user flows, mapping product uploads, order management, and dashboard interactions into structured, intuitive experiences. I partnered cross-functionally with Catalog, Product, Engineering, and QA to ensure feasibility and alignment before progressing to high-fidelity design.
The final solution included polished dashboards, bulk upload workflows, draft product management, and proactive alert systems, giving sellers clear guidance, operational visibility, and real-time insight into fulfillment performance.
It was important to have a close partnership with internal teams and sellers to deeply understand operational challenges before and during design execution. Structured usability testing across both user groups allowed us to validate workflows, stress-test system logic, and uncover friction points.
Feedback was synthesized and prioritized with Product, leading to iterative refinements that improved interaction clarity, reduced cognitive load, and strengthened user confidence in critical marketplace actions.

Boxed’s marketplace was limited by a manual, high-touch seller management process that prevented growth beyond four active sellers. To scale the platform, we reimagined the seller experience as a self-serve ecosystem.The Seller Portal empowered retailers to onboard, manage inventory, fulfill orders, and monitor performance through a centralized dashboard — shifting from internal dependency to seller autonomy.By designing for clarity, efficiency, and scalability, BOXED transformed marketplace operations and enabled growth from 4 to 42 active sellers, establishing the foundation for long-term expansion.
The goal was to expand Boxed’s product catalog by enabling external sellers to independently manage sales and fulfillment , while giving internal teams the visibility and control needed to maintain marketplace quality, without increasing operational complexity.

User testing surfaced usability and governance gaps across both seller and tenant experiences. Sellers struggled with visibility, fragmented workflows, and unclear system feedback, while internal teams required structured controls and aligned communication patterns.
These insights directly informed dashboard design, form consolidation, alert systems, communication pathways, and draft review functionality — ensuring the final portal balanced autonomy with operational oversight.
The Seller Portal reduced friction in onboarding and product management, increased operational visibility for sellers and tenant users, and eliminated reliance on manual oversight.
By introducing a scalable, self-serve infrastructure, the platform is positioned to support continued marketplace growth without added internal complexity.
Supporting dual user types required intentional role-based design and differentiated dashboards to balance autonomy with oversight.
Early usability testing exposed critical workflow gaps, particularly in bulk uploads, draft management, and communication systems, enabling targeted iteration before release.
Next-phase enhancements include automated fulfillment alerts and expanded analytics to further optimize marketplace performance.
After completing high-fidelity mocks, I partnered closely with Engineering during handoff to ensure accurate implementation of UI components and workflows. A thorough visual QA validated both design fidelity and functional consistency before launch.
Beyond the Seller Portal, I designed additional customer-facing screens, including seller bios on Product Description Pages. This enhancement increased seller credibility and enabled product discovery across their portfolios, reinforcing trust and engagement for buyers.
